Stonetown Insurance Building
From the commemorative plaque:
"This commercial limestone block was built in the 1850s as a general store.
It is believed to be the first permanent location of a banking institution in St Marys,
having housed the Bank of Montreal from 1862 - 1889."
Stonetown Insurance is now located at 47 Water Street S.
The Bank of Montreal moved to 46 Church St S in 1889; it is now at 136 Queen Street E. in the western third of the
Guest Block.
In the summer of 2005 it became the The Flooring and Paint Store.
