John Sanderson / Eedy House
John Sanderson (b. c1822) built the the stone cottage on the right in 1850.
He was a carpenter and started a lumber yard located at Queen and Peel.
In 1869 he built the two storey addition.
Around 1900 the entrance porch was added.
John Sanderson was on the committee that in 1881 built the Presbyterian church.
For many years the house was owned by the Eedy family,
publishers of the local newspaper whose offices were at
142 Queen St. E.
In the photo the decorations were in preparation for Halloween 2004.
