William Veal Hutton Building

William Veal Hutton / M & M Building

The block was built for William Veal Hutton (1823-1906) in 1863.   Hutton had emigrated from Hampshire in 1849 and in 1851 bought the grist mill that was located behind this building until it was destroyed by fire in 1921.   Hutton had the McPherson Block built around 1854 and the R. Box House built in 1858.
 
Designated a heritage property July 28, 1981.
