John Elliott House John Elliott was a stone mason and builder in brick who constructed this house in 1897. He was responsible for the maisonry for the Town Hall and the abutments on the Water Street Steel Bridge. His stepfather James Elliot was the mason for the Opera House and the Church Street Bridge John Elliott died in 1903. The house was sold to Mrs Rumsey-Brown, daughter of Theodore Hutton, who lived there for 45 years. The Hutton family were long time supporters of the St James Anglican Church. |
