Bennett Block
151-153 Queen St E. was built to replace a building destroyed by fire in 1890.
Originally it was the A.H. Lofft dry goods and clothing store.
Upstairs were offices.
The building was bought by J.D. Tudor in May 1954 from A.H. Lott's son Fred.
Ray Bennett bought the mean's wear business in 1958.
Louise Schaefer started the ladies wear business shown in 1990 and closed 16 July 2005.
After 8 months on March 23, 2006 the store on the left re-opened as V & S department store.
Apart from the sign changing the exterior of the store remains the same.
