W. V. Hutton / MacPherson Block
In 1841 John Ingersoll built a log general store on this site. Around 1854 William Veal Hutton, an early mayor of the town, had the first 2 stories of the present building built by Lauriston Cruttendon. c1884, the third story (mansard) was completed, almost certainly by William Williams, a local architect, for the then owner George Carter. |
